Daniel Berger continued to play steady, mistake-free golf and extended his lead to five shots heading into the final round of the 2022 Honda Classic. Shane Lowry, Chris Kirk, Sepp Straka and Kurt Kitayama are tied for second at 6-under. The course is getting firmer and more challenging as the week continues as only 13 of the 73 players who made the cut shot under par on Saturday. Winds on Sunday appear to be the lightest for any round so far at only 5-6 MPH. The final round begins at 7:30 AM EST.

DANIEL BERGER: I’ve played some great golf but the challenge is still ahead, 18 more holes, and I’ve got to stay focused on playing another great round tomorrow and if I can do that then I’ll be holding the trophy at the end of the day. The greens are going to be a little firmer and faster and I just have to continue to do the same thing I did today and hit fairways and greens and make some putts.
SHANE LOWRY: The greens are just firming up and they’re crusty and around the hole is pretty difficult. It’s quite hard to get a 25-footer to get good pace on it and get the right speed, it’s just tricky. It’s playing great though, I really like the way it’s playing. It’s such a tough test because I feel like personally that too many weeks we play where it’s 20-, 25-under winning tournaments so for me this is more enjoyable than that. Obviously, you want to go out and catch him tomorrow, but I don’t think you can go and catch anyone on this golf course, you just need to do your thing and shoot the best score you can and hopefully, it will be somewhere near good enough.

Both players performed horribly on Saturday’s round. Nonetheless, Danny Willett holds a sizeable overall SG Rating margin over Brett Drewitt and outclasses him in the world rankings by a large distance. Willett’s putter has room for plenty of improvement while Drewitt has been overachieving on the greens thus far.

Sam Stevens and Andrew Kozan have played in a combined two PGA Tour events in their young careers. Credit to them for making it to the weekend and performing admirably on such a tough golf course. That being said, I will most definitely side with the experience and talent of Billy Horschel and Mito Pereira, both of whom would be much further up the leaderboard had they putted to their Bermuda baseline thus far.
